Where and when is the best time to go rafting in the blue ridge mountains?

Hi, I’m in charge of planning a white water rafting trip for my family and I. I want a lvl 3 and 4 rafting adventure that last about 2-3 hours of river time. I also want to stay at a nice log cabin with a jacuzzi. A friend of mine told me they run around 600 dollars a week and come with full kitchens. I’ll probably need 2 of them. On top of all this, I’d like to spend a day or two minning for rare gems or valuable metals somewhere near by within half an hour to an hour drive. More so, I might like to take a horseback riding trip one of the days. I need prices, a good website, and good locations I should try to plan my vacation around. So where and when is the best time to shedule my vacation.

New River Gorge in W Va…June is good. Water levels are high…also the Gauley River is nearby..North Carolina has the Nanatahala and nearby in Tenn is the Ocoee..google the river names for outfitters..Ive run all of them..the best was the Gauley in October during Drawdown…Class V+
