Blue Ridge Mountain House

Any suggestions for camping in or around the Great Smoky Mountains or the Blue Ridge?
I want to be able to take a shower, and apparently there are no shower facilities in the park. We were considering a tent, but a rustic cabin or lodge might even be more comfortable. I certainly don’t want any kind of luxury house or cabin. Any suggestions?
I’m familiar with the area, there are plenty of campgrounds that offer showers.
Campgrounds in the area are operated by the National Forest Service, the National Park Service, and NC State Parks.
If you are planning on going anytime during the July 4th time period you should call right away and make some reservations, the sites fill up fast!
Most of these campgrounds are along the Blue Ridge Parkway and just outside of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
You are correct, most campgrounds operated by the National Park Service in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park do not have showers.
Our favorite campground in the area is Davidson River Campground, near Brevard, just south of the Blue Ridge Parkway on US 276.
